Myth #1: If I go to the Reunion, I will be able to see all my close friends in the Class of '62.
Fact: SOME of your close friends MAY well be there, but don't take a chance - personally
CONTACT them NOW and ask them, encourage them, urge them to make plans to be there -
it's much more fun that way. Tell them about the class website, www.strongvincent.org -
encourage them to register their email address under "Class Connections."

Myth #2: Strong Vincent's middle name was Melvin.
Fact: Strong Vincent's middle name was Little.  According to the definitive work on the subject,
Strong Vincent: The Man, The Myth, The Legend,
this is actually what happened...
The Vincent family was always a weak family.  Years of inbreeding and an average IQ that was
somewhere near the room temperature had produced a family of small, sickly, weak, dull-witted people.
However, some genetic abnormalities do occur, and it happened that when Strong was born the
delivering physician, Dr. Hartman, was expecting another sickly Vincent offspring.  As Strong entered
the world, Dr. Hartman held him up, slapped his bottom, and was greeted by a most loud and lusty cry.
He then exclaimed, "He looks like a strong little Vincent."  Naturally, the mother heard this and
assumed that was the child's name.

Myth #3: I haven't been to a Reunion in a long time (or ever). I am very apprehensive, but I guess that's just me.
Fact: Almost everyone in the same situation IS apprehensive - for the first few minutes!
But consider this unsolicited testimonial from Committee Member and Classmate Bob Becker...
I didn't go to any reunions until the 20th.  And when I finally did decide to go I was terrified.
I hadn't seen any of these people for twenty years.  How had everyone changed?  Would I have fun?
I gotta tell ya, I had a ball, an absolute great time.  There was no snobbery and no one-upmanship.
Everyone was there to have a good time and renew old friendships.  It was a wonderful weekend.
And the funny thing was that nobody I came to see showed up!  I've been to every reunion since.

Myth #4: The boiler at Strong Vincent High School is very old and makes a lot of spooky noises at night.
Fact: It is the ghost of Erma Weinheimer wandering the halls of Vincent.  She just won't ever leave the place.

Myth #5: I may not go to THIS Reunion, but I'll probably go to the NEXT one.
Fact: It may not be too pleasant to consider the numbers, but they look something like this...
At THIS Reunion, slightly over 9% of the class is deceased.  In TEN years the number can be as high
as 48% of the class. The time is now - come to the Reunion!
